- Maintain files, records, and reports related to budgets, contacts, planning activities, timelines, contracts, purchase orders, and post-meeting notes. Complete forecasts, plans, and productivity reports for management.
- Assist in preparing the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and upsell products and services while minimizing waste to increase revenue.
- Negotiate room prices, sell USPs and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
- Monitor local competitors and compare their operations with your own.
- Solicit business and follow up on referrals and potential sales leads.
- Stay informed about trends, systems, practices, and equipment in audio-visual through trade literature, hotel shows, and site visits.
- Provide direction on and conduct market research.
- Maintain regular contact with IHG regional hotels and reservation networks.
- Attend trade shows and sell conference space when directed.
People:
- Collaborate with the DOS on manpower planning and management needs.
- Assist the DOS in preparing and managing the Department’s budget.
- Manage day-to-day sales activities and build relationships with team members.
- Establish clear and open communication with other departments.
- Build a diverse team, leveraging personal, cultural, and functional differences to optimize performance.
- Create an environment that trains, develops, coaches, and mentors team members.
- Monitor competitors' activities and assist in marketing intelligence.
- Refer sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels Group.
- Sell to new, existing, and prospective customers, negotiating rates that benefit the business.
- Service existing accounts and develop new business opportunities.
- Promote all facets of the hotel.
- Manage relationships with the corporate head office and preferred hotel history for client companies.
- Conduct regular sales calls and meetings with target market principals.
- Perform market research and analysis.
- Develop and maintain contacts with business generators, meeting and convention planners, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, government departments, and other related entities.
- Increase local market presence through event attendance and networking.
- Conduct client interviews and entertain clients as needed.
- Plan and conduct familiarization tours and site inspections.
- Travel as required to promote the hotel and develop business.
- Maintain contact with regional IHG hotels and reservation offices.

- Coordinate safety and security initiatives to ensure smooth meetings with minimal disruptions. Advise clients on eco-friendly meeting options.
