Sales Executive (Field Marketer)

The Sales Executive (Field Marketer) is responsible for their assigned territories, ensuring optimal planning & execution of field marketing, trade service level, and A&V opportunities. They will maintain continuous communication with key partners for efficient resolution of trade opportunities/challenges. They are expected to analyze information from tools like DSD/TME/Retail Eye systems and conduct territorial exploration for business growth. The FM also observes market dynamics in accordance with JTI standards.

What will you do?
  • Identify market opportunities via a consumer-centric Field Marketing approach at retail level to build brands, develop markets, and assess products for awareness and market share (SOM). Convert retailers into ‘re-tellers’ to gain a competitive edge. Ensure all actions align with JTI standards.
  • Achieve field marketing, sales, & distribution objectives focusing on high-impact outlets within the designated area.
  • Monitor and work closely with distributor sales teams to meet sales & distribution targets.
  • Scout, secure, and install merchandising units and conduct outlet visits for related activities.
  • Develop and maintain motivated distributor sales teams through regular visits, understanding their needs, and providing support.
  • Evaluate team performance, provide coaching, and guide improvements.
  • Provide feedback on salesperson performance and market dynamics.
  • Maintain updated records on sales data, distribution, merchandising, and costs.
  • Optimize information from DSD/TME systems and marketing programs for business benefits.
  • Participate in ad-hoc activities as requested.
  • Engage in meetings/discussions to understand JTI’s business objectives.
  • Leverage merchandising activities and programs to optimize trade placement within budget.
  • Maintain relationships with accounts and customers through regular visits and ensure satisfactory trade service levels.
  • Ensure JTI maintains a competitive edge in all channels and outlets.
  • Be flexible and adapt to role changes due to business needs.
Who are we looking for?
  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Class D Driver's License required; GDL is an advantage.
  • Relevant FMCG experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Chinese and dialects is a plus.
  • Good leadership, social skills, and effective communication.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Familiar with business tools like DSD/TME/Retail Eye.
