Job description

The Sales Engineer develops and manages customer relationships, provides technical solutions, and drives sales by preparing proposals, securing orders, and supporting project execution to meet business targets.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with M&E consultants, switchboard manufacturers, dealers, and distributors.
  • Identify customer needs and provide accurate technical and engineering support.
  • Generate high-quality sales leads, follow up after initial contact, secure and renew orders, negotiate prices, complete sales, and arrange deliveries.
  • Prepare technical advice, proposals, calculations, and cost estimations by studying building plans and related customer documents; consult with engineers and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Work closely with internal teams to track project status and ensure smooth execution.
  • Prepare sales reports and analyze market trends to support business decisions.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, with willingness to travel when required.
Skills Required
  • Excellent communication, comprehension, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, market trends, business operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English (written and spoken); Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Solar design, Earthing & Lightning, and Surge Protection Devices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with standards such as MS IEC 62305 Part 1-4, IEC 61643-11, BS 7430:2011, IEEE 80.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
