About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team at Kinsajasa Sdn Bhd. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and revenue growth, by leveraging your technical expertise to provide exceptional customer service and support. This is a contract position based in Miri, Sarawak.

What you'll be doing

1. Technical Expertise

  • Understanding the technical specifications and applications of the company's products or services.
  • Providing in-depth technical knowledge to clients and internal sales teams.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and advancements to maintain competitive knowledge.
  • Assisting sales department in identifying potential customers and opportunities.
  • Presenting technical demonstrations and explaining product features to clients.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to tailor solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Building relationships with customers to understand their technical and business needs.
  • Acting as a liaison between the customer and the product development or engineering teams.
  • Managing client expectations and ensuring satisfaction with technical solutions.

4. Solution Development

  • Designing customized solutions that solve customer problems using the company's offerings.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and site visit as well as preparing technical proposals.
  • Advising customers on the best product configurations and applications.

5. Product Demonstrations

  • Conducting live or virtual demonstrations of products or systems.
  • Highlighting technical advantages and addressing technical questions during presentations.
  • Organizing trials or pilot projects to showcase product effectiveness.

6. Market Research and Strategy

  • Analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and competitor offerings.
  • Identifying opportunities for product enhancements or new solutions.
  • Contributing to the development of sales strategies and marketing campaigns.

7. Training and Education

  • Training customers on product operation and maintenance.
  • Conducting internal training sessions for sales teams on technical aspects of products.
  • Developing user manuals, FAQs, and other educational resources.
  • Providing ongoing technical support to resolve customer issues.
  • Coordinating product installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.

9. Travel and Client Interaction

  • Traveling to customer sites to discuss technical needs and provide solutions.
  • Attending trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network and showcase products.
  • Building strong professional relationships with key decision-makers.

10. Performance Metrics

  • Meeting sales targets and technical milestones.
  • Tracking and reporting on project progress and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimizing the support from project team as well as manage customer interactions

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a similar technical sales role
  • Candidate must posses at least Bachelor's Degree in any field, candidate with with any engineering background is added advantage
  • Strong technical background and understanding of engineering principles, preferably in the relevant industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences
  • Preferably entry level
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments

Shall capture KPI on following aspects:

  • Sales Development / Business Development
  • Entertain Customer Complaints
  • Training / Technical Development with clients & within own organization on company represented products
  • Product Performance Testing Initiation / Pilot Trial
