Electrical engineers are responsible for:

• Researching, designing, and directing the construction and operation of electrical systems, components, motors, and equipment.
• Advising on and designing power stations and systems for generating, transmitting, and distributing electrical power.
• Supervising and controlling the operation of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Designing systems for electrical motors, traction, and other equipment, including domestic appliances.
• Specifying electrical installations in industrial and other buildings.
• Establishing control standards and procedures for performance and safety monitoring.
• Determining manufacturing methods and maintenance procedures for electrical systems and equipment.
