Job Description

Rockwell Automation has a vast portfolio of hardware, software, and services solutions. While clients may know the outcomes they want to achieve, finding the best solution can be challenging. Sales Development Representatives are often the first live client interaction and will help the client begin their solution evaluation. They want to understand client needs and serve as the connector between the client and Rockwell’s subject matter experts.

As a Sales Development Representative, you will be a critical component of Rockwell’s client relationships and business growth.

General Description:

As an SDR, you will be the backbone of our sales process, establishing customer relationships and developing and providing motivated leads to our sales team. You’ll work with Business Development, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop targeted strategies and messaging to lead opportunities for new business. Success in this role will be largely determined by your thoughtfulness and engagement.

You will be directly involved with the expansion of Rockwell’s business into the region and have the opportunity to be the local liaison for prospective clients.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Understand the client’s desired outcomes and why they are interested in Rockwell Automation solutions.
  2. Understand and deliver Rockwell Automation’s value proposition and facilitate lead handoff to the appropriate subject matter experts.
  3. Participate in inbound and outbound calling and email campaigns and exceed quotas related to calls made, emails sent, qualified opportunities, and pipeline attribution.
  4. Produce sales pipeline and qualify leads by identifying prospects' desired outcomes, pains, and product fit.
  5. Collaborate with Business Development and Sales to create an accurate pipeline and schedule qualified meetings and follow-ups, ensuring attendance and engagement.
  6. Answer incoming calls, distribute emails, and monitor Rockwell’s online chat portal.
  7. Prioritize and plan prospect tasks and outreach strategy.
  8. Participate in high-level solution/product conversations with senior executives and team members within prospect accounts.
  9. Ensure accurate and up-to-date customer interactions are captured in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce).
  10. Participate in projects to increase team efficiency.
  11. Respond to inbound requests for demos with creative email communications, meeting daily email targets.
  12. Develop a sales territory following a strategic plan to attract and drive new business.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Interest in pursuing a career in tech sales and marketing.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving organizational dynamics motivated by the growth of Rockwell Automation.
  • Ability to maintain activity levels to produce sales leads and exceed monthly goals.
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects.
  • Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities and organizing outreach efforts.
  • Experience digging into prospects' pain points and validating issues with decision-makers.
  • Team player mentality and collaborative approach.
  • Storytelling skills: comfortable presenting a company and product in any setting.
  • Prospecting and CRM experience in a SaaS or technology environment is an asset.
  • Previous experience meeting sales quotas and achieving goals.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or related work experience.
  • B2B Inside Sales experience in a technology company.
  • Multilingual abilities (English plus any Asian language) are preferred.
