Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environment (General Duties)
- Support implementation of HSE functions across MR DIY’s operations (retail, warehouse, office).
- Conduct regular inspections to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, or working practices.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994 and other relevant health and safety laws and regulations.
- Prepare, review, and update HSE documentation (policies, SOPs, HIRARC, ERP, etc.).
- Liaise with government agencies (DOSH, BOMBA, etc.) as needed.
- Assist the Health and Safety Committee meetings and ensure proper documentation.
Training & Awareness
- Plan, organize, and deliver structured safety training programs (e.g., PPE, fire safety, HIRARC, ERP).
- Conduct training sessions confidently in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Ensure training documentation and reporting are up to date and well maintained.
- Coordinate training schedule, and participation tracking.
- Promote continuous learning and awareness across all staff levels including stores and warehouses.
Criteria for Health and Safety Team (Training & Awareness Role)
- Certification in NIOSH Train-the-Trainer is highly preferred to ensure competency in delivering structured safety training.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in planning, organizing, and delivering occupational safety and health training programs (e.g., HIRARC, ERP, fire safety, PPE, etc.).
- Solid understanding and practical application of OSHA 1994 and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Able to conduct safety training confidently in both Bahasa Malaysia and English across all staff levels, from store and warehouse personnel to supervisors.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate training activities including scheduling, coordination, and documentations.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices in retail and warehouse environments is a strong plus.
