Job Overview:

We are seeking a certified Safety Officer (Green Book holder) who is fluent in Mandarin to join our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety, conducting risk assessments, enforcing compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organization. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate safety protocols in Mandarin to workers and management.

Two rotating shifts:

Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Afternoon Shift: 12:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Monday to Friday (5 working days per week)

The Safety Officer will be required to rotate between the two shifts based on operational needs.

Occasional weekend or public holiday work may be required in the event of safety audits, incidents, or emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other relevant safety regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.

Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s safety policies and procedures.

Provide safety training and toolbox talks in Mandarin to ensure clear communication with employees.

Lead emergency response drills and ensure all personnel are aware of safety procedures.

Monitor PPE usage and ensure all employees comply with safety regulations.

Liaise with DOSH (JKKP), CIDB, NIOSH, BOMBA, and other regulatory bodies for safety compliance matters.

Prepare monthly safety reports and present findings to management.

Assist in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

Stay updated on industry safety standards and recommend improvements to existing procedures.

Requirements:

Certified Safety Officer (Green Book Holder) registered with DOSH (JKKP).

Minimum 3 years of experience in an EHS-related role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or engineering industries.

Fluent in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken) to communicate effectively with workers and management.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMA, and other Malaysian safety regulations.

Experienced in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training.

Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency situations when needed.

Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
