Job Purpose:
The Safety Officer will assist in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across various project sites within a large-scale industrial development. This role involves active participation in safety inspections, hazard identification, and the implementation of robust safety protocols to protect personnel and prevent incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting daily safety inspections and proactively identify potential hazards on project sites to ensure strict compliance with established safety standards.
Monitor all workers to ensure consistent adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety protocols, actively working to prevent any violations of commands, rules, or labor discipline.
Support the organization and delivery of essential safety briefings, comprehensive education/training sessions, and effective emergency drills.
Monitor and ensure robust safety measures are in place for all high-risk activities, including but not limited to scaffolding, working at heights, hot works, and confined space entry.
Systematically collect and organize all critical safety documentation, such as inspection records, safety briefing logs, and training attendance sheets.
Assist in the accurate reporting of safety data, detailed incident records, and follow-up on rectification feedback for any unsafe behaviors identified.
Actively participate in site inspections during construction phases, report any observed abnormalities, and provide practical, rational suggestions for improvement.
Carry out other safety-related duties as assigned by the project management team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Diploma or higher qualification in Safety Engineering, Construction, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Installation, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in safety management within construction or industrial project environments.
Familiarity with construction site safety standards, safe work practices, and established protocols for high-risk activities.
Certifications (Preferred): Holder of relevant safety-related certifications (e.g., Green Card, Safety Supervisor Certificate).
Skills:
Possesses a detail-oriented approach and strong observation skills.
Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Capable of adapting to long-term site-based work and performing effectively under pressure.
