Job Description

The Safety Officer will ensure Mövenpick Hotels & Residences complies with safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for employees and guests. Responsibilities include monitoring workplace activities, facilitating safety training, investigating incidents, and recommending preventive measures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure Compliance:
   • Monitor adherence to Saudi safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
   • Conduct inspections to identify hazards.
   • Maintain safety standards aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
2. Risk Management:
   • Identify and mitigate safety risks.
   • Implement corrective measures to ensure safety.
3. Safety Training:
   • Develop and conduct safety training programs.
   • Educate staff on safety protocols and promote a safety culture.
4. Incident Management:
   • Investigate incidents and near-misses.
   • Report findings and recommend preventive actions.
   • Maintain accident logs and report to authorities as needed.
5. Emergency Response Planning:
   • Assist in developing emergency and disaster recovery plans.
   • Coordinate drills and emergency procedures.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Prepare safety reports and maintain records.
   • Suggest remedial actions for safety violations.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. Certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a safety role, preferably in hospitality or similar environments, with experience in luxury hotels or large facilities.
• Skills: Knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication, attention to detail, training skills, proficiency in safety documentation.

Additional Information

Experience with Opera or similar systems is a plus. Fluency in English required; additional languages are beneficial. Experience is an asset.
