Safety & Health Officer (TNB Projects - Butterworth North)

Company: TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd

EITA Resources acquired a 60% stake in TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd (TSC) in 2016. TSC was incorporated on 8th April 2009 under the Malaysia Company Act, 1995.

TSC is managed by a dedicated team of experienced and qualified engineers and technicians, most with over 20 years of hands-on experience in electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. Our specialty is implementing electrical substations from LV to EHV up to 500KV.

We are also involved in manufacturing Control Protection relay panels, Marshalling Kiosks, Metering Panels, and related equipment to support our primary substation implementation business.

Job Description
  1. Advise the employer or person in charge of a workplace on safety and health measures for the well-being of employees.
  2. Assist the safety and health committee in inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  3. Inspect the workplace to assess machinery, equipment, substances, and manual labor for safety compliance.
  4. Serve as secretary to the safety and health committee.
  5. Collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and diseases at the workplace.
  6. Assist officers in safety and health matters as directed by the employer or person in charge.
  7. Report to the Project Manager and support Line Management in implementing the Site Safety Management Plan.
  8. Advise on developing Safe Operating Procedures, Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  9. Prepare Site Safety Statistics and Monthly Reports.
  10. Conduct weekly and monthly safety inspections.
  11. Review incidents, near misses, and accidents; ensure proper record-keeping as per statutory requirements.
  12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety and Health Officer in the construction industry.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a valid Green Book and CIDB certification.
  • Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Willing to travel and work outstation as required.
  • Willing to work at night when necessary.
