Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Workplace Safety :
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
- Recommend and implement corrective/preventive measures.
- Regulatory Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other applicable safety and health regulations.
- Liaise with DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, and other regulatory bodies when required.
- Safety Policies & Procedures :
- Develop and enforce company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Update documentation in line with changes to laws or site conditions.
- Training & Awareness :
- Organize and conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, induction programs, and emergency drills.
- Educate staff on safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Incident Investigation :
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Produce reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain records of inspections, incidents, audits, training, and PPE issuance.
- Prepare periodic safety reports for management review.
- Emergency Preparedness :
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Ensure first aid kits and fire safety equipment are in place and functional.
Job Requirements
- Possess a valid Green Book certified by DOSH (JKKP Malaysia).
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
