Job summary

Talent Recruit is seeking a Safety & Health Officer for an on-site role in Puncak Alam, Selangor. The SHO will enforce safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with engineers to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields, with 3–5 years of experience in health and safety management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in health and safety management is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local, national and international safety regulations (OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety policies and regulations across the project lifecycle.
• Regularly review safety protocols to meet laws and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies with engineers and technical teams.
• Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support preparation of project EHS documents and reports.
• Perform audits and inspections and document corrective actions.
• Maintain records of safety activities, incidents and training.

Position: Safety & Health Officer (SHO)

On-Site Location: Puncak Alam, Selangor

Working Days/Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm (subjected to business requirement)

Job Overview

The position of Safety and Health officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment throughout the project lifecycle. The incumbent will develop policies, conduct risk assessments, implement safety strategies and work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures and regulations throughout the project.
• Regularly review and update safety protocols to ensure compliance with local, national, and industry regulations.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, environmental safety guidelines, and company safety practices.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for project activities and identifying potential hazards.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with the engineers and technical teams.
• Continuously monitor and inspect work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Support in preparing project documents related to EHS.
• Perform regular audits and inspections, documenting findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed records of all safety related activities, incidents, training and compliance checks.
• Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
  

Requirements:

• Possess a diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management
• In-depth knowledge of local, national and international health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
