A construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to oversee safety management on high-rise building projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, leading the safety management team, and communicating safety goals to all stakeholders. Candidates should possess at least SPM level and a valid Green Book, along with experience in safety management. Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia are necessary for success in this position.
To lead safety management team to meet company's safety policy and plan, Government and Local Authority safety regulations, and Clients project safety requirements.
Ensure safety measures and plans at construction sites are adhered to and in compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
Communicate the company's safety goals and objectives to employees, vendors, subcontractors, and others.
Organize and chair toolbox meeting with Employees, Vendors, Sub-contractors, etc. to resolve and close any incidents, safety violations or penalties.
Review and update safety performance data or indicators in the Management Review meetings, Site Progress meeting, etc.
Provide or recommend a continual improvement plan for the safety policy, objectives and goals.
Coordinate and lead the Emergency Response Team during accident and/or emergency situations to bring the matters under control and resolve the matter.
Coordinate and conduct accident/incident investigations and follow up on any actions taken to close the investigations.
Consult and communicate on safety and health matters, disseminate safety information, and implement feedback and suggestions from employees, authorities, and consultants.
Coordinate and organize a safety incentive program to encourage awareness, compliance, and strict adherence at project/construction sites for productive, incident-free, and timely project completion.
Any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Requirements: -
Candidate must possess at least SPM level and with valid Green Book, Safety Officer.
Able to communicate and write Bahasa Malaysia.
Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office, MS Office.
Preferably a Senior Executive specialized in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
Experience working with a main contractor on high-rise projects.
Capable of handling / resolving requirements requested by JKKP and the Health Department.
Must have a good understanding of construction knowledge and work sequences.
