Job description

Inspect the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliances, or process of any description (including labor) is safe and does not cause any property damage or bodily injury to the employee.

2. NADOPOD

Investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease at the workplace.

If it happened, then you are required to inform and submit the relevant reports to Management.

Notify DOSH via JKKP6, JKKP7, JKKP8 and JKKP9.

Ensure proper signage is placed in noisy areas as per the AREA/ZONE.

To collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on any Accident, Dangerous Occurrence, Occupational Poisoning, or Occupational Disease which have occurred in the company.

3. Carry out the necessary duties/functions as required for the effective implementation of the Workplace Safety & Health Committee.

4. To prepare the required/necessary Safe Operating Procedures (SOP), Working Instructions (WI), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Risk Control (HIRARC) & etc. as per the OSHA act 2022 compliance. Ensure all docs/reports must be controlled copy.

5. To ensure the Working at Height Procedure/SOP are practiced and relevant PPEs are provided.

6. Chemical;

To monitor all chemicals used at the workplace and prepare suitable guidelines USECCH Regulation 2000

Brief the workers about the hazards of chemicals.

Ensure workers are using the correct PPEs, as per the approval standards.

Prepare the latest chemical register used at the Rawang plant.

Ensure proper storage for chemicals & detergent. It must be labeled with proper signage and kept the latest SDS.

7.Safety & Hygiene Inspections;

To ensure the daily inspection is carried out at the workplace2 times per day without fail including Warehouse (finish good). Suggest to do the first inspection once the shift starts at 6.00am and 2nd inspection before the shift ends at 3.00pm. In between shifts, do rounds regularly.

To conduct spot-checks on a regular basis (Hygiene, locker, alcohol and etc.).

To record all non-compliances and get the responsible department to issue the DAF to the HR Department for further action.

If need to go out to handle company-related matters must obtain prior and proper approval with photos before and after returning from the fieldwork and also record in the register book at the Guard House

8. To look into & resolve all complaints, suggestions, and feedback from any employee concerning workplace safety & health issues.

9. To ensure the production employee didn’t violate the Safety & Health policy that can jeopardize their own safety and also the company (Working at heights, Hygiene, PPE, and other established practices).

10. To liaise with the government/local authorities (Bomba, Police, town council, etc.) on relevant issues such as street lighting breakdown, utility disruption notification & rectification, landscaping trimming, and eradication of poisonous.

11. To liaise with other departments on matters concerning audits, certification (ISO, GMP, HACCP, etc.), and/or any other instruction given by the Company/Management.

12. Conduct briefings to staff on matters concerning occupational safety & health such as safety briefings, training, demonstrations, toolbox meetings, etc.

13. Pest control management;

To supervise all pest control activity by third-party pest control contractors at Rawang factories.

To liaise with other departments (QA, QC, Halal, etc.) for audit purposes on areas concerning pest control.

To keep all pest control documents/records properly for Audit purposes.

Upon completion of pest control treatment, kindly upload the service docket (Witnessed by the Supervisor) in the Safety & Production group without fail.

14. To manage and supervise the General Affairs (GA) staff’s daily tasks in the absence of the Rawang G.A Assistant Supervisor.

15. To bring an employee who is reported sick or meets with a minor industrial accident to a nearby clinic/hospital. In the case of a major accident, please call the Ambulance.

To ensure all firefighting systems are maintained in good condition, services, and kept the record properly.

To ensure the fire extinguishers are serviced on time before the expiry date and in useable condition at all locations

To ensure that all fire extinguishers are checked once a month and thick the tag checklist hanging on the fire extinguisher cylinder upon check.

To establish ERT formation, conduct Fire drill exercises and all related equivalent tasks. Included fire drill exercise for all security supervisors and guards on an ad-hoc basis. Ensure the ERT chart and procedure are placed at the guard house and relevant spot.

To keep a proper record of the fire extinguisher at Factories and Hostels.

17. To do inspection/spot check at all the company foreign workers’ Hostels.Ensure the Fire extinguisher (With Tag checklist), First Aid box and Emergency Contact number are in place.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of a Diploma /Advance Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or relevant discipline.

Minimum of 2-3 years experience in safety and health management, preferably in a manufacturing industry or role.

Familiarity with government documentation and compliance requirements related to Safety, Health, and Environment.

Strong understanding of ESH regulations and safety standards.

Good knowledge of handling ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Able to communicate in Tamil would be an added advantage.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
