Job description

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with Malaysian regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs for all employees, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident investigations, and other relevant documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to health and safety regulations and industry standards, and ensure the company's programs and policies are updated accordingly.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), to ensure compliance and address any concerns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization by actively engaging with employees and encouraging their participation in safety initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in health and safety management within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Thorough knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs to employees at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to effectively communicate safety procedures and policies to a diverse workforce.
