A leading company in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health regulations. The role involves planning ESH programs, conducting safety training, and liaising with regulatory bodies to maintain safety standards in the factory. This position is crucial for promoting a safe working environment and managing safety performance updates.
To conduct responsibilities as per Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officers) Regulation 1997.
To plan and execute ESH-related programs and activities in the factory, ensuring all activities align with company safety standards and statutory requirements.
Conduct and serve as secretary for SHE committee meetings.
To educate workers on ESH policies and safety practices.
Monitor stock and issue PPE, maintaining inventory records to ensure items are always available and up to date.
Assist in reporting and investigating accidents and near misses.
Conduct and deliver safety training such as safety toolbox talks, safety inductions, proper safety procedures, LOTO, and the use of PPE.
Manage and monitor permit-to-work systems inside the factory.
Organize and oversee the emergency response plan (ERP).
Provide safety performance updates to management.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (JKKP, DOE, MOH, BOMBA, and other related government agencies).
Carry out scheduled waste management and ensure compliance with DOE requirements.
Advise management on environmental requirements and compliance.
Perform any tasks assigned by superiors and management.
