A leading manufacturing company in Johor Bahru is looking for a Health and Safety Officer. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines, conducting safety inspections, and leading training sessions. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and has at least two years of relevant experience in safety management. This role offers an opportunity to implement safety procedures and promote a proactive safety culture.
Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) guidelines in the workplace.
Implementing & enforcing safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Lead safety orientations and training sessions for all employees, contractors, subcontractors, and any visitors to ensure awareness and understanding of safety policies.
Investigate and implement preventive measures (HIRARC) for any accidents, near miss accidents, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which occurred in the workplace (NADOPOD).
Maintain safety records, documentation, and incident reports.
Promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging the reporting of safety concerns and continuous improvement of safety practices.
Manage and coordinate HSE & ERT Committee team and meetings. Ensure that all agreed actions are completed within deadlines.
Assist with any safety, health and environment related audits.
Conduct Job Gap Analysis and Job Hazard Analysis.
Manage the allocation and maintenance of personal protective equipment ("PPE") and safety signage across the workplace, as well as maintain & inspect first aid kits.
Liaise with external regulatory bodies and maintain up-to-date knowledge on the latest industry safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Any other tasks as assigned by the superior.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Environmental Health, or related field. A valid Green Book is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in safety management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Possess a thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and practices (OSHA) applicable to the manufacturing industry.
Possess the ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and training sessions.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and motivating teams to adhere to safety protocols
A proactive approach to safety, with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve safety issues promptly.
