Safety & Compliance Manager/HSEC Manager
The Regional Safety & Compliance Manager provides monitoring, compliance, and expertise in areas of Safety (Personal, Food, Equipment, Property, Environment) and Compliance (Local regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, Audits). You will play a highly influential management role and deliver expectations to truly add value and create a sustainable safety culture across all operations in Malaysia. You will understand that safety is personal and use your skillsets to motivate employees to change or enhance their safety commitment. Be the regional focal point for all food safety and compliance-related matters.
Essential Functions:
- VISION: Understand, be a role model, and uphold the company’s vision and operational safety & compliance objectives.
- LEADERSHIP: Motivate and mentor the Malaysia safety team members, management, and employees. Your mission is to strategically create, sustain or enhance proactive safety measures across the operations. You will also actively implement continuous improvement within the scope of your work.
- ONSITE VISITS: On average, travel 60% of the time performing HSE Inspections, identifying opportunities for improvement, training onsite teams, and meeting clients to review Safety performance and opportunities for improvement.

- COMMUNICATION: Must have excellent communication skills as this role requires a high level of interaction with employees and clients. Communicate all issues, concerns, and needs to the Safety & Compliance Director to ensure fluid lines of communication and clarity. Simultaneously, inform and coordinate with our Operations Managers, Onsite Managers, and the Operations Director as required. Foster relationships, and work to enhance client trust in Cezars Kitchen through safety and compliance. Take active ownership of safety communication with clients.
- KPI’s, REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION: Establish, monitor, and support KPIs and high-level data analysis. Participate in the creation of Safety Focus, safety Newsletters, incident, external, and training reports.
- AUDITS & CERTIFICATIONS: Play an active role to ensure all audits such as ISO, 3rd party audits, and certifications such as BeSs and Halal are successfully achieved within the established deadlines.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Custodian of all Safety & Compliance systems within the region.
- Recommend necessary changes to existing safety plans to ensure they apply to the unique operations of each client or location.
- Monitor and continually strive to enhance compliance with Malaysia Food Act 1983 and other applicable codes.
- Strive to streamline the onboarding of new employees by creating achievable safety training and orientation targets.
- Commitment to physical onsite inspections to review safety and compliance performance.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences to take measures that will prevent re-occurrences.
- Participate in the response, management, and investigation of all emergencies for all site locations/operations including Food Safety Incidents and Natural Disasters.
- Liaise and be the focal point as required with enforcing agencies such as local health ministries.
- Timely reporting of all safety and compliance-related information, KPIs, Corrective Actions, and external reports.
- Oversee development of training programs along with delivery where applicable.
- Cooperate with local laboratories, clinics, and institutes to ensure food safety compliance including the analysis of food microbiological reports.
- Provide guidance and support in achieving certifications such as Halal, ISO, HACCP, and other audits.
- Ensure compliance with all local food codes and international guidelines such as Codex Alimentarius.
- Chair and drive the Food Safety Steering committee to continually improve ISO 22000 principles across all accounts.
- Ensure Corrective Action Requests (CAR) reports are submitted in time as per CK standards.
- Train, monitor, coordinate and uphold accountability towards Operations Managers in terms of Safety & Compliance requirements such as monthly inspections and timely reporting of Corrective Action Requests.
Educational/Requirements: A degree in either Hospitality, Food Safety, Occupational Safety, or engineering. Relevant safety and food safety certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, ISO, Auditing, and HACCP are highly desirable.
Experience: 6 Years minimum of work experience under functions of food safety in catering or hospitality is highly preferred. At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Reports to: Safety & Compliance Director, Operations Director – Malaysia.
