Job description

GADA, we are passionate about shaping the next generation of drone pilots & stakeholders. Our academy offers comprehensive training programs covering drone piloting, aerial photography, mapping, industrial applications, and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Drone Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety policies, risk mitigation protocols, and regulatory compliance across all RPTO training programs. You will play a key role in ensuring safe flight operations, managing incident reports, and liaising with CAAM and other relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the designated Safety Manager (SM) for the RPTO, reporting independently to the Accountable Manager on all safety-related matters.

Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of theSafety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with CAAM RPTO regulations.

Verify that flight operations, training activities, and permit applications comply with approved safety risk mitigation measures and CAAM guidelines.

Monitor and audit safety and compliance performance, identify non-conformances, and drive corrective actions through a documented quality and audit program.

Ensure all safety-related policies, manuals (including the Safety Manual and Training Procedures Manual), and documentation are up to date and comply with CAAM requirements.

Liaise with CAAM and other aviation authorities on safety and compliance matters, and submit incident reports as required.

Lead safety investigations and maintain an internal reporting culture aligned with SMS principles.

Facilitate safety training and awareness programs for training personnel and students.

Review and validate the qualifications and ongoing training of instructors and flight operations personnel related to safety and compliance requirements.

Ensure all CAAM publications and safety directives relevant to RPTO operations are disseminated and complied with.

Requirements:

Certified RPTO Safety Manageror hold relevant aviation safety qualifications(e.g., Safety Management System (SMS), Aviation Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years of experience inaviation safety, unmanned aircraft operations, or flight safety management.

Strong knowledge ofCAAM regulations (CADs, Part RPTO).

Experience implementing or managing anSMS in an aviation or UAS environment.

Skilled in SMS, safety audits, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently with a proactive approach to safety.

Instructional or RPTO management experience is an advantage.
