Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drone Maintenance Controller to manage and oversee the maintenance, airworthiness, and technical records of our drone fleet. This role is critical in supporting the RPTO's operational integrity and ensuring compliance with CAAM regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report directly to theAccountable Manageron all matters relating to maintenance, facilities, and regulatory compliance.

2. Assume the delegated duties of theChief Remote Pilotduring their prolonged absence, specifically in the areas of maintenance control and airworthiness oversight.

3. Manage and coordinate allUAS maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

4. Maintain accurate records ofqualified maintenance personnel, including details of their training, certifications, and authorization.

5. Develop, implement, and monitorUAS maintenance standards and best practices.

6. Maintain a comprehensive log ofUAS defects, technical issues, and unserviceable equipment.

7. Ensure all specialist and payload equipment remains in aserviceable condition.

8. Maintain up-to-datetechnical knowledgeof the academy’s drone fleet.

9. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with theTraining Procedures Manual (TPM)and CAAM regulations.

10. Investigate significant UAS defects and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

11. Ensure the availability of adequatestorage facilities, tools, equipment, materials, and technical publicationsto support practical training tasks.

12. Manage and updatetechnical publications and reference materialsrelevant to maintenance and operations.

13. Oversee the storage areas and workshop, ensuring all are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.

14. Assist the Safety Manager in conducting investigations, identifying root causes, and addressingNon-Compliance (NC)issues within the Training Department.

15. Review technical aspects oftraining materials and circularsbefore classroom or practical training sessions.

16. Ensurecorrective actions are taken promptlyfor any non-conformances identified during internal quality audits.

17. Manage subordinate staff involved in maintenance and procurement activities.

18. Oversee procurement of maintenance tools, equipment, and parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.

Requirements:

· CAAM-recognized certification inUAS/Drone Maintenance, or equivalent qualifications in aviation maintenance.

· Minimum2 years of experiencein drone, UAV, or general aviation maintenance.

· Strong familiarity withCAAM RPTO requirements, CADs, and technical documentation practices.

· Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.

· Proficient in maintenancerecordkeeping, reporting, and technical documentation.

· Able to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic training environment.

· Experience working withmulti-rotor and fixed-wing dronesis an advantage.
