Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a vigilant Traffic Control Assistant to manage road safety around construction sites. You will monitor signals, wear PPE, and coordinate with supervisors to keep traffic flowing safely.

Duties include inspecting equipment, taking corrective action when gear is damaged, patrolling work zones, and assisting during accidents within the Right of Way. Outdoor work and physical fitness are essential.

Experience in traffic control is an advantage; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Responsible, alert, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Prior experience in traffic control or construction safety is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Control and manage traffic flow while construction vehicles or machinery are crossing the road.
• Ensure traffic control equipment such as flags, whistles, baton torches, and signage are in good condition before use.
• Maintain and safeguard all traffic safety equipment.
• Take immediate corrective action if traffic equipment is damaged, displaced, or improperly arranged.
• Wear appropriate safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of installed traffic control equipment along construction road areas.
• Provide assistance during accidents or emergencies involving vehicles within the Right of Way (R.O.W.) area.
• Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with company procedures and instructions given by supervisors.
