A leading food manufacturer is seeking an R&D Culinary Assistant specializing in Chinese cuisine to develop scalable recipes for OEM production. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and be proficient in English and Chinese. This role requires collaboration with chefs and attention to food safety standards, offering a dynamic work environment in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine or food R&D roles.
  • Strong technical understanding of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Proficient in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).
  • Skilled in recipe documentation and food costing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize Chinese cuisine recipes for OEM production.
  • Collaborate directly with customer chefs to refine product requirements.
  • Conduct trial runs and oversee scale-up from test batches to production.
  • Record all recipes with clear measurements and preparation steps.
  • Perform detailed costing analysis for each recipe.

We're Hiring: R&D Culinary Assistant (Chinese Cuisine)
Location: Singapore
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am – 7pm

Simple Food Solutions is a central kitchen and OEM food manufacturer serving F&B brands across Singapore. We focus on developing scalable, high-quality food products tailored to our clients' needs.

Role Overview:
We’re looking for an R&D Chef with strong expertise in Chinese cuisine to join our team. This role requires close collaboration with our clients' Chinese chefs to translate their culinary ideas into scalable products. You must be proficient in both English and Chinese to communicate effectively across all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and standardize Chinese cuisine recipes for OEM and ready-to-eat production
  • Collaborate directly with customer chefs to understand and refine product requirements
  • Conduct trial runs and oversee scale-up from test batches to production
  • Record all recipes with clear measurements, methods, and preparation steps
  • Perform detailed costing analysis for each recipe, ensuring production viability
  • Work closely with procurement to recommend ingredients and optimize cost
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards in all test kitchen processes

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine or food R&D roles
  • Strong technical understanding of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients
  • Proficient in both English and Chinese (written and spoken)
  • Skilled in recipe documentation and food costing
  • Able to work in a fast-paced central kitchen or manufacturing environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, especially when working with chefs and cross-functional teams

Bonus if you have:

  • OEM food manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with product shelf life and packaging considerations
