As part of the FNZ APAC's second line of defence (2LOD) Risk and Compliance function, the Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting FNZ's ability to grow safely and deliver high-quality services to clients.
The Risk Manager helps shape FNZ's risk framework by providing insight, oversight and constructive challenge across all areas of risks. You'll work across business functions to strengthen governance, support key change initiatives, and embed a strong, accountable risk culture - enabling FNZ to meet its strategic objectives while protecting long-term value.
The responsibilities include:
Risk Framework & Processes
- Help design, implement and maintain FNZ's risk management framework in line with regulatory standards and best practice
- Support the rollout and improvement of risk processes to help leadership understand and manage key risks
- Work with other Risk and Compliance teams to ensure a consistent approach to risk matters across the business
Oversight, Challenge & Change Management
- Provide guidance and constructive challenge to ensure teams follow the Group Risk Management Framework
- Support risk oversight for major projects and change initiatives, identifying and managing risks early
- Encourage a culture of risk awareness and accountability across the business
Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Assist in risk assessments to identify and prioritise risks across operations
- Help identify and manage operational risks by recommending controls that strengthen resilience
- Support investigations and reporting of incidents or breaches, and follow up with corrective actions
Reporting & Communication
- Help prepare clear risk reports for senior leaders, governance bodies, and clients
- Contribute to communications with clients about risk strategies and key exposures
- Monitor regulatory and market changes that could affect FNZ's risk position and share relevant insights
Training, Policy & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and delivery of training to build risk knowledge across the team
- Help maintain and update risk policies and procedures as regulations and business needs change
- Look for ways to improve how we manage risk, based on feedback and emerging best practices
What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?- Sound Experience: At least 5 years' experience in a risk and/or compliance role, preferably within a platform or financial services environment.
- Regulatory Expertise: Sound knowledge of risk and control frameworks applicable to the industry, ensuring risk mitigation.
- Best Practices Knowledge: Sound understanding of industry risk and compliance best practices, with the ability to assist in implementing and enhancing frameworks accordingly.
- Qualifications: University degree in law, commerce, science or equivalent from a reputable university. Relevant professional or industry qualifications in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, with the ability to foster collaboration and trust.
- Analytical Reporting: Strong ability in analysing, presenting, and reporting risk information to senior stakeholders, facilitating informed decision making.
- Ownership and Proactivity: Can do attitude and a strong sense of ownership of workload, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
- Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance.
