Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and implement an overall risk management process for the Group.
- Make risk assessments by analyzing, identifying, describing, and estimating risks affecting the business.
- Evaluate risks by comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the Group, such as costs, legal requirements, and environmental factors, and review previous risk handling.
- Establish and quantify the Group’s risk appetite, i.e., the level of risk they are prepared to accept.
- Prepare risk reports tailored to the relevant audience.
- Undertake corporate governance activities, including external risk reporting to stakeholders.
- Implement health and safety measures and develop business continuity plans to limit risks.
- Conduct audits of policies and compliance to standards, liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Maintain and administer corporate governance policies, manuals, and procedures, and monitor non-compliance.
- Ensure appropriate governance frameworks and internal control systems are in place.
- Communicate changes in legal, regulatory, and industry developments to employees.
- Implement corporate governance processes and procedures within the Group.
- Cultivate a compliance culture, conduct training, and assist functional heads in developing processes and procedures.
- Provide support, education, and training to staff to build risk awareness.
- Advise on all compliance-related matters.
- Prepare quarterly reports and board papers for IIUMH Main Board, Sub Board Committee, and Subsidiary Board, attending meetings as needed.
- Interpret data and analyze results using ACL Analytics; develop data analysis and collection systems.
- Support special tasks, studies, projects, and other functions under Group Corporate Assurance.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Accountancy.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Ability to lead and supervise teams and Risk and Compliance Champions at subsidiaries.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, solve problems, and make recommendations.
- Well-versed with risk management frameworks, methodologies, and corporate governance practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication skills with all management levels and stakeholders.
- Strong team player, innovative, always seeking improvements.
- Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
