About the role

We are seeking a skilled Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team at Optimum Infosolutions (M) Sdn Bhd. This is a contract position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our banking and financial services operations. This position is integral to maintaining our regulatory compliance standards and protecting the organisation from potential financial and operational risks. You will work closely with senior management and various business units to develop robust risk management frameworks and ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and document potential risks across banking and financial services operations
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and control measures
• Monitor and analyse compliance metrics to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Prepare comprehensive risk reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders
• Conduct risk assessments for new products, processes and business initiatives
• Support internal audit activities and regulatory inspections
• Maintain risk registers and documentation in accordance with organisational policies
• Collaborate with business units to identify emerging risks and recommend preventive measures
• Review and analyse financial data to identify trends and anomalies that may indicate risk exposure
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry developments affecting risk management

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3-5 years of professional experience in risk management, compliance or a related financial services role
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and financial compliance frameworks relevant to Malaysia
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and tools
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
• Professional certifications such as CRM (Certified Risk Manager), CRMA (Certified Risk Management Assurance) or equivalent are advantageous
• Experience with risk management software and banking systems is preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment
