Retail Operations & Excellence Executive
As the Retail Operations & Excellence Executive at Wanderlust + Co, you will own the operational rhythm of our offline retail homes — ensuring every store runs efficiently, every product is where it needs to be, and every customer enjoys a seamless brand experience.
You’ll oversee the full spectrum of retail operations, from inventory accuracy to team enablement and store execution, while driving continuous improvements across all touchpoints. Job Responsibilities
- 30% – Inventory & Stock Management
- Own stock flow and replenishment in alignment with sales and marketing activities.
- Lead order accuracy and fulfillment for all retail homes, including pre-orders and special launches.
- Drive regular cycle counts and quarterly full stocktakes with 100% accuracy targets.
- Oversee all physical stock movements between warehouse, HQ, and stores, proactively resolving discrepancies.
- Lead offline retail teams in maintaining display accuracy, executing promotions, and ensuring POS data integrity.
- 30% – Retail Operations & Store Leadership Enablement
- Conduct regular store visits (at least twice monthly, more during peak periods) to audit performance and coach store teams.
- Own daily merchandising operations for offline stores: promotion calendars, launch execution, price labeling, and asset readiness.
- Identify root causes behind operational challenges, implement corrective actions, and standardize solutions.
- Champion the culture of continuous improvement by coaching, training, and providing instant feedback.
- Implement, review, and maintain retail SOPs across regions to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor store KPIs to drive operational excellence and improve sales productivity.
- Partner cross-functionally (Merchandising, Marketing, Operations) to ensure every retail launch is operationally ready and on-brand.
- 20% – Omnichannel Operations & Training Management
- Lead customer experience standards across offline channels; resolve escalations swiftly and effectively.
- Partner with Operations and Merchandising to optimize workflows on returns, exchanges, QC, and order tracking.
- Own and enhance the execution of offline exclusive personalization services.
- Conduct retail workflow reviews, lead operational training sessions, and align communication across all stores.
- Drive onboarding for new hires with Store Leaders; ensure timely feedback and integration check-ins.
- Optimize store team scheduling based on performance trends and traffic insights.
- Lead weekly stock and sales reporting, providing insights on bestsellers, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Propose and implement inventory and merchandising strategies that drive profitability across stores.
- Oversee inventory flow between HQ, retail homes, and dropship platforms, balancing efficiency and availability.
- 10% – Ad-hoc Projects / Event Management Support
- Lead operational readiness for new store openings, relocations, and layout refreshes.
- Oversee planning and execution of retail events and pop-ups — from scheduling to stock and VM execution.
- Coordinate with Store Leaders on visual merchandising standards, stock allocation, gifting, and post-event analysis.
Key Success Metrics
- ≥98% stock accuracy across all stores.
- 100% retail launch readiness on schedule.
- Improved store efficiency metrics and SOP compliance.
- Regular implementation of measurable process improvements.
Qualifications Needed
- Diploma or higher in Business, Retail Management, Operations, or related field.
- 2–4 years’ experience in retail operations, merchandising, or team leadership.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficient in Shopify POS, Excel/Google Sheets, and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented with strong time management ability.
