Job description

The Retail General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall management and profitability of the company’s retail commercial properties — including malls, shop lot clusters, and commercial spaces. This role oversees leasing, tenant management, operations, and marketing initiatives, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, high occupancy rates, and an excellent experience for both tenants and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of retail properties, ensuring functionality, safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations.
• Drive leasing strategies to achieve high occupancy and maintain an optimal tenant mix.
• Lead lease negotiations, renewals, and tenancy documentation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, handling feedback and resolving issues proactively.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns, events, and promotional activities to increase footfall and tenant visibility.
• Monitor customer traffic, tenant sales, and satisfaction to guide improvements.
• Manage operating budgets, control costs, and prepare monthly financial and performance reports.
• Lead and develop the property management team including leasing executives, administrative staff, and maintenance personnel.
• Develop and implement SOPs to enhance efficiency and ensure consistent service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as marketing, finance, and facilities to align strategies and support retail success.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of leasing, tenancy management, and retail operations.
• Proven leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and make data-driven decisions.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.
