ARRAIS BOOKS AND STATIONERY SHOP is seeking a Shop Assistant (Female Only) to join our team in Shah Alam. You will greet customers, help them choose products, and handle cash and card payments at the till.

You will keep displays tidy and stocked, restock shelves, and ensure planograms are followed while providing product information to customers. The role requires flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with point-of-sale systems and computer basics.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

JOB VACANCY: Shop Assistant (Female Only)

We are looking for a disciplined and friendly female employee to join our team!

What you'll be doing

Providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering enquiries and assisting with product selections

Processing transactions accurately at the point of sale using the till system and handling cash and card payments

Maintaining product displays and ensuring the store is clean, organised and visually appealing at all times

Restocking shelves and arranging merchandise in accordance with company standards and planograms

Assisting customers with product information, features and benefits to support their purchasing decisions

Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating issues to management when necessary

Monitoring stock levels and reporting low stock items to supervisors

Supporting the team during busy periods to ensure efficient store operations

Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

Previous retail or customer service experience, demonstrating your ability to work effectively in a customer‑facing role

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner

Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude towards work and customer interactions

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by the business

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry products safely

Proficiency in using point of sale systems and basic computer literacy

A keen eye for detail with the ability to maintain high standards of presentation and organisation

Teamwork and willingness to support colleagues in delivering excellent service

Shift Options (Choose one):

- Session 1: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (1-hour break)

- Session 2: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM (1-hour break)
