Retail Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver data support within the Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) division. The role involves providing data infrastructure support and management information (MI) reporting. This includes coordinating and consolidating multiple data sources to create and maintain a user datamart and produce recurring reports. Additionally, the individual will continuously review existing data management processes to identify inefficiencies and implement enhancements or new processes

Role Responsibilities

  • Collate various data sources from external parties (e.g., Insurers, Aggregators, Partners) and internal data providers (e.g., FEDX, Business Users, Host Systems), including PDW (Parallel Data Warehouse) and any new data streams.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all required data for subsequent WRB processes.
  • Maintain the internal datamart, ensuring data quality control and performing regular housekeeping.
  • Provide necessary support for data extraction to manage time-sensitive and critical business needs.
  • Enable effective data management governance through regular forums and reviews.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and User Validation Testing related to data servers and systems.
  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Ensure effective management of operational risks within the function and compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulation

Skills and Experience

Job Requirements
  • Analytics Experience: Proven experience in data analytics, including the ability to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
  • SAS and SQL Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with SAS and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Office Tools Expertise: Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data presentation and reporting.
  • MI Reporting & Data Management: Demonstrated experience in management information (MI) reporting and data management, including the creation and maintenance of data marts and recurring reports.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and quality control.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify inefficiencies in existing processes and develop solutions to enhance or create new processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different departments to achieve common goals
  • Governance and Compliance: Understanding of data governance principles and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and new data streams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with additional data analysis tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of financial services and banking industry data requirements.
