Job description

Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager - Southern Region

Operates the restaurant with the goal of maximizing profits by controlling expenses and increasing sales volume.

Maintains high standards in Quality, Service, and Cleanliness at all times.

Reviews employee performance reports from Assistant Managers, Management Trainees, and Supervisors to recommend wages or promotions.

Responsible for training all employees, including Assistant Managers, Management Trainees, and Supervisors, in collaboration with the Training Manager.

Monitors inventory control, ordering, purchases of stock items, and store room organization.

Checks all management records such as order forms, FIFO, daily sales reports, weekly staff schedules, payroll submissions, overtime claims, cashier reports, wastage reports, etc., as per the Standard Operating Forms Manual.

Reviews and approves petty cash reimbursements below RM 250.00.

Responsible for bank-in of sales money.

Supervises food preparation, proper use and cleaning of equipment, and storage of cold and dry food items.

Ensures proper employment administration, including advertising, interviews, employment letters, orientation, training, and resignation procedures.

Ensures timely submission of reports.

Reviews payroll and sales reports weekly and guides ARM and Supervisors in manpower planning.

Maintains food cost percentage by controlling wastages, spoilage, pilferage, and portioning errors.

Periodically counsels and evaluates employees' job performance.

Oversees equipment maintenance and repairs, furniture, fixtures, and recommends replacements when necessary.

Monitors pest control effectiveness.

Recommends improvements to standard operating procedures, recipes, and food presentation without changing established standards.

Plans to select an Assistant within six months to assist and eventually take over current duties.

Does not change suppliers without owner approval.

Implements energy conservation measures in the restaurant.

Holds authority to hire and dismiss staff as needed.

Delegates duties to shift supervisors for development while maintaining accountability.

Maintains high morale and team spirit within the restaurant.

Conducts monthly staff meetings and prepares minutes for follow-up.

Plans systematic job rotation for full-time and long-term part-time staff.

Ensures all training materials are maintained and updated by the team.

Monitors progress of restaurant training sessions.

Evaluates ARM, Management Trainees, Supervisors, and Crew Leaders' effectiveness.

Oversees promotion programs, reviews records, reports, and customer feedback on promotions.

Ensures daily briefing by shift managers.
