Research Fellow (Nature-positive power grid decarbonisation)

Applications are requested for Research Fellow positions on climate change, weather extremes, and energy security assessment. This position will be based in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing data-driven water & power-grid simulation, optimisation, and control models
  • Creating a novel integrated framework that incorporates climate extremes for energy security assessment
  • Collaborating with the PI on reports and project deliverables
  • Co-supervising PhD students
Qualifications
  • Possess a PhD degree in civil engineering, hydrology, water resources engineering, optimization and control, seasonal forecasting, machine learning, or from similar programs.
  • Extensive experience in developing complex computer codes, e.g. in Python, R, or Shell.
  • Ability to construct and write papers for leading research journals and conferences.
  • Good written and spoken communication.
  • Open to fixed-term contract.
