Job description

In 2023, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) has appointed the Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) in Duke-NUS Medical School to set up and lead the new Standards Development Organisation (SDO) supporting the Biomedical and Health Standards Committee. CoRE-SDO is hiring a Research Assistant (Senior) to provide technical and operational support in the Precision Medicine domain.

The job responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Identify emerging domains in Precision Medicine for standard development in line with the goals of the Singapore Standard Council.
  • Conduct research and analysis of the international standardisation landscape in Precision Medicine.
  • Convene and coordinate focus groups or working groups comprising domain experts to identify standardisation gaps.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of national and international standards in collaboration with industry stakeholders.
  • Review existing standards with industry partners to ensure continued accuracy, relevance, and alignment with local needs.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement to facilitate the adoption and implementation of standards, including planning and managing events such as launches, workshops, and conferences.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to technical committees and working groups.
  • Support Singapore’s participation in international standardisation activities, including global meetings, study missions, and working groups.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support SDO operations and other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Precision Medicine, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences.
  • Strong knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, and relevant clinical applications.
  • Prior experience in project management, planning, and coordination would be advantageous.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to present findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
