Job description

We’re looking for a responsible, self-managed video editor to join our small team working on high-profile content for children and teens. While flashy edits are appreciated, what matters most to us is your judgment — knowing what to cut, what to censor, and what to keep.

We value:

A strong sense of pacing, tone, and humor

Understanding of English wordplay, internet culture, and meme timing

The ability to edit with intention and purpose

Requirements:

Fluency in English (not perfect, but enough to understand and use wordplay naturally)

Familiarity with fast-paced YouTube content, especially those targeting kids and teens

Self-discipline to work independently and meet deadlines

A reliable laptop or PC capable of handling long-form video editing

Proficiency in any editing software — we care about the final product, not the tool you use

What you’ll be doing:

Editing YouTube gaming-style content geared toward a younger audience

Making editing decisions that enhance clarity, humor, and pacing

Adding occasional captions, jokes, or effects where appropriate

Delivering a consistent number of videos per month, based on agreed timelines

*Qualified applicants will be invited to complete a paid trial task to demonstrate their editing style and understanding of the content.

Candidates who pass this initial stage will proceed to a second, full-length paid trial, where they will receive personalized feedback and be evaluated for long-term collaboration.*

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Applicants must have a strong understanding of American internet culture, gaming lingo, and the high-energy pacing common in children’s and teen-oriented content (“brainrot” style).

While this may sound like a dream job — fully remote, flexible, and creatively rewarding — please understand that it comes with high expectations. Our standards for pacing, editing quality, cultural awareness, and communication are demanding. This is not an easy role, and only those who are genuinely passionate, skilled, and committed to the craft will thrive here.

We also ask that applicants do not exaggerate their English proficiency or editing experience. We can easily tell when communication skills don’t match what’s written. This role requires genuine understanding, not just polished resumes or one-off video projects.

If your editing experience is limited to a single company event video, or if your work history doesn’t reflect relevant editing experience, this position IS NOT the right fit for you. We’re looking for people who actively and consistently work with video.
