Job summary

CACTUS is seeking Editors for the Earth and Environmental Science team to work on a remote, contractual basis. The role offers renewable terms by mutual consent and predictable scheduling, with work available regularly to maintain consistency.

The editor will review and refine manuscripts for clarity, accuracy, and readability, ensuring discipline-specific terminology and arguments meet audience expectations. Experience in scientific editing is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Environmental Science or related fields.
• Proven ability to edit scientific manuscripts for clarity and accuracy.
• Strong English writing and editing track record.
• Experience in scientific editing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving authors' meaning.
• Ensure subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate for the target audience.
• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts to meet high academic writing standards and format per target journal guidelines.
