Job summary

Speechify is hiring for its Data team to own data collection and support model training. You will build high‑quality datasets at petabyte scale by integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research work.

A Software Engineer with a data focus will join to advance ingestion pipelines and cloud systems. You will collaborate with AI scientists, engineers, and leadership to scale data quality and cost efficiency for next‑generation consumer and enterprise products.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipeline on GCP using Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to shift cost/throughput/quality frontier for richer data.
• Help craft the AI Team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify's next‑gen products.
