Job summary

Nexus International School Malaysia is seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to provide cover duties and general support to the class teacher, ensuring smooth management of pupils and classrooms. You will work with the year team, parents, and leaders to promote the school vision, implement policies, and foster an inclusive, safe learning environment for EY to Year 6.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and experience in international settings are preferred, and the role

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent.
• Experience supporting primary learners (EY – Year 6).
• Experience in an international education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching cover duties and general support to the class teacher.
• Promote school vision and strategies within the year group.
• Implement actions based on school objectives and policies.
• Ensure planned learning aligns with pupil attainment.
• Collaborate with year team, leaders and parents to support individual students.
• Create and maintain a supportive learning environment.
• Promote inclusive practices and equal access to learning.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Prepare resources and support learning initiatives when needed.
• Supervise students in the absence of subject teachers.

• Provide teaching cover duties and other general support to the class teacher in the management and organization of the pupils and the classrooms.
• Positively share, communicate and promote the school vision, strategic aims and actions relevant to the year group.
• Implement actions based on the school's strategic objectives and policies.
• Ensure planned learning within the class or teaching group based upon children's attainment.
• Work in partnership with the year team, school leaders and parents / carers, to ensure the success of individual children.
• Assist teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
• Promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
• Be proactive in preparing resources and take initiative when supporting learning.
• Supervise and manage students in the absence of subject teachers.

Requirement:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Education/Teaching/Training
• Able to work with Primary learners (EY – Year 6)
• Experience working with children in an international education setting is preferred
• Passionate about the growth and development of children
• Available as and when required on an ad-hoc basis
