A leading asset management firm seeks a candidate for a Sales Manager role in Kuching, Malaysia. This role involves formulating sales strategies and overseeing the performance of various channels to enhance asset management services. Candidates should have a degree in Business or Finance and possess strong leadership and communication skills. Experience in fund management or sales is preferred. Fluency in English and additional languages is advantageous.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for assisting formulation and implementation of sales strategies and plans to enhance Institutional Unit Trust Agents (IUTAs), Channel Partnership (CPs), Direct Channel (DCs), and Corporate Unit Trust Agents (CUTAs). Support and Communication, as well as continuingly improving the work quality and standards within the Sarawak Region, ultimately contributing to the overall performance of the company in achieving its financial and non-financial objectives.
Performance
To assist in achieving market share objectives and performance objectives in the management of the Company’s existing and new unit trust funds.
Monitor the performance of IUTAs, CPs, DCs and CUTAs to ensure that they achieve their goals.
Develop and grow Sarawak Asset Under Management (AUM) though the four channels: IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs. Work closely with key distributors on effective business strategies and take necessary corrective actions for overall Sarawak AUM growth.
Assist to help motivate the respective IUTAs Branch Sales Personnels/CPs, DCs, CUTAs through branch visits, individual conference, customer seminars and joint sales calls.
Supervise and monitor campaigns & contests within Sarawak region.
Assist Manager, East Malaysia, Sarawak and work closely with Branch Executive in formulating strategies for enhancing sales.
Provide information on activities, sales campaign, sales application.
To support the sales and marketing activities of the IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs.
Communication
Responsible for the overall communications to the IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs, including the following though not limited to Circulars, flyers, newsletters, memos and letters.
Sales ideas and materials to the IUTAs branch personnels/CPs/DCs/CUTAs which can be used to enhance sales.
To assist the Manager, East Malaysia, Sarawak in developing and establishing the four channels: IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs.
Ensure that the distributors within the care of Sarawak Region receive support and services.
Promotions/ Campaigns for IUTAs branch personnels/CPs/DCs/CUTAs and investors purchase
Assist the IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs to communicate, monitor and track their respective promotion schemes (where applicable).
Training and Development
To provide on-going training to enhance the skills and knowledge of the IUTAs’ branch sales personnels/CPs/DCs/CUTAs. Training topics includes, but not limited to, the following Company’s products (new and existing).
Support and Services.
Soft skills (eg. “Selling Skills” and “Handling Objections”).
Event Organization
Assist in the management and organization of events related to IUTAs/CPs/DCs/CUTAs including the following and not limited to
Liaise with the respective IUTA’s designated personnels/CPs/DCs/CUTAs in this matter.
Plan the activities and its management.
Coordinate and administer the activities for department.
Administer of the schedule of training, presentation, road show and etc.
Idea Generation
To consistently be on the lookout for new ideas and opportunities, and suggest through proposals to the Manager, Sarawak Region.
Others
To support other departments within the scope of the job function.
To assume any duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
A basic degree in Business, Economics or Finance or equivalent.
Experience
Two to four years’ experience preferably in the Fund Management / Sales & Marketing Environment.
Preferably to possess leadership and with strong business acumen.
Strategic thinker with strong determination, with ability to perform under stress and tight deadlines.
Experiences in managing and supporting distribution channels will be an added advantage.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluent in Mandarin or other Chinese dialect(s) and Bahasa will be added advantage.
Good at using MS Word, Power Point & Excel.
Fluent in English and major Chinese dialect(s).
Strong presentation and communication skills, proactive and resourceful.
Planning, organization and time management skills.
Good inter relationship skills with ability to engage people and motivate staff.
Strong knowledge of the investment industry.
Sales/marketing experience to a wide range of customers/business partners.
Attitude
Should be prepared to work under pressure.
Exhibit independence and self-motivated.
Possess high level of commitment, ability to multi-task and a strong team player.
Integrity, accountable, versatile and willing to take ownership and enthusiastic in achieving results.
