Inviting applications for the role of Claims Adjuster – Reinsurance claims

The purpose of the Claims Adjuster role is to settle claims within authority as efficiently as possible. This will include the technical assessment of claims and the formation and implementation of strategies, to bring the claims to swift resolution. The role will involve adherence with all operational procedures and adopting a settlement strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Handle and adjust reinsurance claims (proportional and non-proportional) from FNOL to settlement, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with Slip terms.
  • Validate and track premium, reserve, and settlement data across systems (Slip, S2K, Bordereaux, EvS) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the reconciliation and adjustment of complex or CAT-related losses, working closely with underwriters, brokers, and finance teams.
  • Analyse claims data, identify trends and loss development patterns, and prepare internal dashboards and intelligence tools using Power BI, Excel, or Alteryx.
  • Build and maintain reports to support operational and regulatory requirements, including bordereau analysis, loss development triangulations, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the wider claims and actuarial teams to improve data quality, automate manual processes, and enhance the claims MI suite.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, Lloyd’s standards, and applicable regulations, and contribute to team KPIs and audit readiness.
  • Engage in projects to enhance the claims operating model and contribute to the modernisation of tools and workflows.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Insurance, Risk, Law, Business, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or similar.
  • Exposure to reinsurance or insurance claims preferred; strong interest in developing technical claims capability.
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Alteryx (training will be provided if needed).
  • Familiarity with bordereaux processing, claims systems (e.g. S2K), or performance reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance structures, including treaties, facultative placements, and contract wording.
