What's the role?

As a Regulatory Affairs Advisor based in The Hague or London, you will work with our gas and biomethane traders and originators, being responsible for researching and synthesizing regulations to extract key insights supporting country-specific business strategies and commercial opportunities related to gas and biomethane in the Netherlands. Additionally, you will influence the development of the regulatory framework for gas and biomethane in the Netherlands to enable the energy transition and safeguard SEA's interests.

Other responsibilities include:

  1. Serving as the subject matter expert on NL gas and biomethane regulation for traders and originators, anticipating and influencing regulatory developments.
  2. Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders such as Trading & Supply Products, Compliance, Renewable Energy Solutions, Government Relations, and Legal teams.
  3. Building strong relationships with national authorities and agencies responsible for gas regulation and biomethane certificates.

What we need from you

  • Reside in the Netherlands or London with the ability to travel monthly.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • University degree.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework for energy in the Netherlands, with experience reviewing and interpreting regulations, and synthesizing complex regulatory information to draw commercial implications.
  • Strong commercial acumen and creativity to respond effectively under time pressure, especially during negotiations with experienced regulatory professionals.
  • Influencing skills to communicate and persuade multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ability to formulate opinions and advise on the commercial impact and regulatory feasibility of new activities within evolving legislative landscapes.
