Job description

Regional Senior Accounts Specialist (GL)

This role is responsible for providing support to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial reporting for a portfolio of companies.

Work closely with the Finance team to ensure consistency and best practices are developed and maintained across the function, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance.

Support activities related to general accounting, timely period-end closing, and reporting in compliance with FRS, group policies, and statutory requirements.

Prepare financial and management reports, along with related analysis and commentaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for period-end closing activities such as GL journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L monthly schedules.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for group consolidation.
  • Handle tax reporting and compliance (e.g., GST/WHT/Corporate Income Tax).
  • Support internal and statutory audits.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset and Inventory Registers.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures; provide trends and forecasts; explain processes and techniques; recommend actions.
  • Improve current processes, procedures, and internal controls as needed.
  • Handle ad hoc assignments and projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; ACCA or CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting and general ledger experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel; knowledge of Oracle NetSuite preferred.
  • Experience in financial analysis for business segments is an advantage.
  • Must be committed, responsible, independent, and a team player.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and react according to urgency.
  • Willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
