A leading Credit Reporting Agency in Malaysia is looking for a Sales Manager to drive revenue growth in the SME segment. The successful candidate will lead a team to acquire and retain SME customers by delivering tailored credit solutions. This role requires extensive B2B sales experience and a proven track record in achieving revenue targets.
We are Malaysia’s leading Credit Reporting Agency (CRA), and we are expanding rapidly. We are seeking dynamic, driven, and motivated individuals to join our team. Our Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) segment is one of our fastest-growing products, with numerous expansion plans and innovative ideas.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for driving top-line revenue growth through the acquisition, development, and retention of small to medium enterprise (SME) customers. The successful candidate will lead a regional team of Business Development Officers (BDO), Area Managers (AM), and Territory Managers (TM) to expand the company’s market share by offering credit reporting, analytics, and digital solutions tailored to SME needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Ownership
· Own and achieve regional sales targets for SME customer acquisition and upselling across digital products and services.
Sales Strategy Execution
· Translate commercial sales strategies into actionable plans.
· Develop customer and territory plans and execute local go-to-market initiatives to maximize conversion and revenue.
· Monitor and optimize the regional sales pipeline using the company’s CRM platform.
· Ensure forecasting accuracy and timely reporting on sales performance and market intelligence.
Customer Development
· Build relationships with key SME customers and industry associations.
· Understand business pain points and position the company as a trusted partner offering credit decisioning and digital solutions to manage credit risk effectively.
· Collaborate with marketing, technology, and product teams to align solutions with customer needs and market demand.
· Provide feedback to drive continuous product, technology, and process improvements.
· Hire, coach, and manage a team of Business Development Officers, Area Managers, and Territory Managers.
· Provide hands-on leadership, training, and performance management to ensure sales targets are met consistently.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
· Monthly and quarterly sales revenue targets
· Number of new SME customer accounts acquired
· Customer retention and upsell rate
· Team performance and targets achieved
· Pipeline activity metrics (meetings, proposals, pipeline health)
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Business, or a relevant discipline
Work Experience
· 10+ years of B2B sales experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role
· Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in SME, fintech, or digital products
· Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce) and data-driven sales strategies
· Strong understanding of credit reporting products/services or digital solutions for businesses is preferred
· Excellent communication and selling skills to influence customer decisions
· Strong stakeholder management skills for collaboration and win-win outcomes
· Strong coaching and leadership development skills
· Self-starter, able to work independently and collaborate across teams
· Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous
· Willing to travel across assigned regions to perform the role effectively
