Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking an Asia Regional Operational Excellence Specialist to drive improvements across sites. You will identify priorities with site and regional leaders, lead or support programmes, and deliver measurable gains in productivity, quality, safety and cost.

Qualifications

• Experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or related roles.
• Ability to manage improvement initiatives with measurable results.
• Experience applying structured problem-solving techniques and LEAN/Six Sigma methods.
• Strong data interpretation and process analysis capabilities.

The role:

As an Asia Regional Operational Excellence Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:

• Identify operational priorities and improvement opportunities in partnership with site, functions and regional operations leaders
• Lead or support key operational excellence programmes and improvement initiatives across sites
• Deliver measurable improvements in operational performance, including productivity, efficiency, quality, safety and cost
• Facilitate and lead improvement activities such as Kaizen events, value stream analysis, and structured problem-solving workshops
• Lead expert ideation sessions to generate and evaluate improvement opportunities
• Conduct root cause analysis to address operational issues and performance gaps
• Improve operational maturity through adoption and consistent application of the structured production system (JMPS)
• Capture and share operational best practices & continuous improvement capabilities across sites within the region and globally

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• Experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Operations or related roles
• Demonstrated ability to manage, lead or support improvement initiatives with measurable results
• Experience applying structured problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Strong process, analytical and data interpretation skills
• Experience working in operational or production environments (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, operations)
• Structured problem solving and analytical thinking
• Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and influencing skills
• Ability to work across cultures and geographies
• Data-driven decision making
