Universal Robina Corporation is looking for Regional Marketing Director (Malaysia)

The Regional Marketing Director is responsible for driving growth of the respective category across the entire URC portfolio. This role leads the identification of new opportunities, segments, and offerings to accelerate overall business growth. A key part of the role is partnering closely with country teams to propel category performance in each market, ensuring local strategies are aligned with the global vision. The Director champions synergy across innovation, brand building, and portfolio strategy to unlock scalable and sustainable growth.

What are their Job Responsibilities:

1. Growth and Profitability Accountability

  • Own the category’s revenue, gross profit, and EBIT delivery. Drive initiatives that enable topline growth while improving margins through productivity, mix management, and cost optimization strategies.

2. Innovation Leadership

  • Define and lead the global innovation agenda to unlock new growth opportunities and address evolving consumer needs. Oversee cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Market Research, Creative Agencies, Finance, and Sales to ensure successful innovation delivery and execution.

3. Brand Equity & Communication

  • Leverage consumer and market insights to develop differentiated positioning, brand strategy, and communication platforms. Guide markets on brand activation to build long-term equity and engagement across touchpoints.

4. Global-Local Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to country marketing and commercial teams, providing guidance and tools to drive category performance in-market. Ensure alignment between global strategy and local execution, while respecting market nuances.

5. Portfolio & Category Strategy

  • Shape the long-term portfolio strategy, including role of brands, pricing architecture, and white space identification. Make portfolio choices that support both premiumization and value offerings aligned to consumer trends.

6. Business Planning & Performance Management

  • Lead annual strategic planning and monthly performance reviews for the category. Provide business analysis, insights, and corrective actions to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

What are the Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing or Business or any equivalent
  • More than 5 years of experience in managing total Marketing and have people management experience
  • Successful track record of results delivery in a role with P&L accountability
  • Highly operational in core Marketing skill sets - brand strategy, consumer insight, innovation management, communication development, and in-market activation.
  • Regional Local Collaboration - Ability to navigate complexity across multiple markets, cultures, and stakeholders to ensure global strategy translates into effective local execution.
  • Innovation & Growth Orientation. Passion for growth, with a forward-looking mindset to identify emerging trends, new segments, and disruptive opportunities.
