Job description

Purpose Statement: The Director - Continuous Improvement reporting to the VP of Operations, will support definition and deployment of the roadmap for the Plexus’ Continuous Improvement Strategy. This role will be Plexus Manufacturing Operations focus, collaborating with all Plexus Functions and leadership stakeholders on prioritization of initiatives and the implementation strategy of Plexus Continuous Improvement standard work to ensure we have operational methods among these teams, which lean out the definition, development, testing, deployment of solutions and align the Continuous Improvement Value Proposition and initiatives with Plexus strategic initiatives. The Director - Continuous Improvement will also enable execution improvements across the Regional Plexus Manufacturing Sites, by engaging with site functional leadership, providing guidance to continuous improvement efforts, developing a strategic vision and driving productivity initiatives, this position supports the Plexus System of Operational Excellence (PSOE) and our enduring goals with a heavy focus on Value Stream Transformation deployment and P&L improvement in Plexus.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure alignment of all Continuous Improvement activity with the Strategic goals of the business by leading continuous improvement initiatives across all sites - including infrastructure and training methods, addressing customer and business needs to support Plexus growth while delivering zero defects and perfect delivery. Lead within a heavily matrixed organization with direct and indirect authority and influence a global SME network to execute the value proposition across all levels, global, regional, site. Ensure C.I. alignment to I4.0 Digital Tools & Processes.
  • Determine, Design and Deploy the PSOE - Plexus System of Operational Excellence as standard work across all PLXS-MFG Locations.
  • Align PLXS-MFG Continuous Improvement Value Proposition with Plexus Corporate Training Strategy.
  • Align Plexus BEST and all related Best Practice Tools & Processes with PLXS-MFG Continuous Improvement standard work and align with functions X-PLXS to support BEST.
  • Enable PLXS-MFG reputation in the EMS industry as the most valued Operational Excellence Model. Do this through benchmarking industry and academic best practices.
  • Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, MBB - Master Black Belt Certification or ASQ OR equivalent.
  • Senior Project Management Certification from PMI (Project Management Institute) or recognized international equivalent.
  • 15 years experience in Industry in Technology, Lean or Kaizen in Operations roles with minimum 8 years regional experience in EMS Industry.
