Regional Commodity Manager

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

To effectively develop and lead a global team of Commodity Managers to ensure excellence. Drive technical excellence within the team by developing tools, metrics, and strategies that meet business needs. Develop, implement, and measure a global business plan that fully addresses the needs of our business sectors, including commodity strategies, supply base development, global infrastructure, and price management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and People Management Responsibilities

1. Recruitment: Influence and assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Commodity Managers. Communicate criteria to recruiters.
2. Employee and Team Development: Identify individual and team strengths and needs; create or validate training curricula; coach and mentor managers; assist with succession planning.
3. Performance Management: Set measurable goals; solicit feedback; provide coaching; recognize achievements; evaluate team members; drive continuous improvement; coordinate team activities; manage recognition and rewards fairly.
4. Communication: Provide regular forums for idea exchange; communicate clearly; encourage input; adapt communication styles as needed.

Supply Chain Management Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy and Direction: Understand corporate strategies; develop and implement strategies aligned with corporate goals; develop business plans for commodities.
2. Cost Management: Identify cost reduction opportunities; develop cost analysis tools; provide feedback on cost trends.
3. Forecast Development and Accuracy: Prepare and analyze forecasts regularly.

Technical Management Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate expertise in assigned commodities and supply chain management.
2. Develop global commodity infrastructure and strategies.
3. Develop and manage supply base; market supply chain expertise; define and implement models; analyze market conditions; maximize purchase leverage; build relationships with management; drive improvements; ensure procedures are efficient; innovate; demonstrate customer service; lead by example; establish measurement systems; share knowledge; adhere to policies; handle sensitive information; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, etc.
• Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Interpret instructions in various formats.
• Read and communicate technical, financial, and legal documents effectively.
• Strong knowledge of global logistics, industry practices, and international taxes.
• Proven change management success; cost reduction experience.
• Excellent communication skills; proficient in MS Office and email.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in manufacturing, supplier management, negotiation, or materials planning.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Additional experience with plastic injection molding, data analysis, and a proactive, urgent work ethic.
