Job description

This is a Full-Time position as a Receptionist / Mental Health Technician for our Outpatient services. The Outpatient Tech is responsible for providing direct patient care and transportation services to all patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders. In this position you would be responsible in supporting the therapeutic milieu and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Essential Duties:

    • Coordinates the schedule of transportation pick up and drop off for the outpatient department.
    • Assists with greeting outpatient visitors and clients, answers phone calls, and ensures the outpatient department runs smoothly.
    • Signs for, receives, and route incoming mail including courier deliveries.
    • Handle requests for information and data: reports as requested.
    • Respond to and resolve problems and inquiries for the outpatient department.
    • General clerical duties including photocopying, fax, mailing, filing(electronic and paper), sorting and distributing correspondence, prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
    • Complies with facility’s safety, infection control and security programs.
    • Lead and accompany patients to and from activities, examinations and treatments as assigned.
    • Assists patients in becoming accustomed to daily routines and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities to promote rehabilitation.
    • Under the direction of professional staff; redirect or restrain patients using SAMA techniques in order to prevent injury to themselves or others.
    • Promptly reports patient issues to the RN on duty.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by professional staff.

Job Requirements

Education - High school, GED, or equivalent preferred. Must possess or obtain a valid CPR certification and SAMA training within 30 days of hire.

Experience – Experience in healthcare environment preferred.

Required Licenses

  • Must also have a good driving record and knowledge of driving safety rules

Additional Requirements: Must obtain and maintain approved CPR certification as well as successful completion of Management of Assaultive Behavior training including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assuming patient care responsibility.
