Job summary

Mindteck is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and maintain firmware for mission-critical communication devices across industrial segments in Malaysia. You will participate in all phases of the SDLC from requirements gathering to release validation, define software requirements for new platforms and features, and develop architectural specs, ICDs, and MSCs.

Lead or participate in peer reviews to uphold safety and quality, diagnose complex issues with lab

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing real-time embedded software for mission-critical communication equipment and industrial systems.
• Strong proficiency in C and/or C++, with OOAD and data structures.
• Knowledge in embedded software development, e.g. drivers, protocols, WiFi, DSP, 5G/LTE, and embedded Linux.
• Experience in real-time embedded software development for communication devices and automotive/industrial applications.
• Good knowledge of microprocessors and controller design.
• Real-time OS knowledge is essential.
• Experience with embedded debugging tools and on-chip debuggers.
• Experience with Bitbucket/GitHub/Jira.
• Experience in AI (AI Agentic, SDD, Co-pilot).

• Participate in all phases of SDLC from requirements gathering to release validation.
• Define software requirements for new platforms and features.
• Develop architectural specs, ICDs, and MSCs.
• Lead or participate in peer reviews and design walkthroughs to ensure safety and quality.
• Diagnose complex system-level issues using lab equipment and debugging tools.
• Collaborate with global R&D, hardware, and validation teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
