Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a Radiographer to provide polite, efficient X-ray services to patients and support emergency coverage for radiologists. You will implement imaging policies in collaboration with management and supervise imaging modalities as directed by the Chief Radiographer.

The role requires Diploma/Degree in Medical Imaging, at least 1 year of experience, BLS, and strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication.

Responsibilities

• Handle diagnostic imaging modalities and perform procedures as per doctor requests.
• Take charge of x-ray equipment and accessories per Chief Radiographer; supervise the PPM service.
• Assist in daily operations and administration in liaison with the Chief Radiographer or Radiographer in charge.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Produce high-quality radiographs while minimizing radiation dose to patients.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and hospital accreditation requirements.

1) GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Radiographer wouldbe responsible forprovidinga polite,efficientcompetent and prompt x- rayservices to patients. The Radiographer shallbe available at all timesto the Radiologist or Consultant for any emergency services. To perform any duties/task thatbeengiven bysuperiorat any time and anyplaces.

2) JOB DESCRIPTION

• To implement the policies and procedures for the Diagnostic Imaging Services in liaison with the management.

• Tohandlingdiagnostic imaging modalities and perform the procedure accordinglybaseon doctors / Consultantrequest.

• Totake inchargeonthe x-ray equipment and their accessories as per instructed by Chief Radiographer, and to supervise the PPM service forthat modalities.

• Toassistin the daily operational and administration of the service in the liaison with the Chief Radiographer / Radiographer in – Charge.

• Toassistin the training programmed for thenew staff.

• Competent in handling all Diagnostic Imaging modalities including post-processingprocedure.

• To takegood qualityradiographs and to keep low radiation dose topatient.

• To provide highestquality ofpatientscare at all timesto internal and external customers.

• To ensure all the departmental charges related to Diagnostic Imaging procedure and disposable items thathasbeen used on the patientiswell key-in especially during on-call time.

• To carried out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations1994.

• To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and otherpersons.

• To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty.

• Ensure compliancetoPatientsafety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient safety (2008).

• Participate actively in any other new services that are introduced. Ensure allpolicesand procedures of ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and/ or Hospital Accreditation are adhered and recordsmaintained.

• Ensure the policies on patients andfamily’srights areaddressed at all times.

• Toadhere to Standard People Practice (SPP) at all times.

3) JOB REQUIREMENT

• Diploma / Degree in Medical Imaging.

• At least 1yearexperience.
