Job description

Your Role

As part of the global transformation of our Finance Shared Services Center (SSC), the Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Malaysia office in redesigning and enhancing accounting and controlling processes to align with the broader SSC transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the Finance Manager with year-end statutory reporting activities, including:
  • Audit coordination
  • Corporate tax filings
  • GST return submissions
  • Preparing audit schedules and financial statements
  • Addressing and resolving audit-related queries
  • Play an active role in supporting the rollout of internal controls in accordance with the COSO framework, including the implementation of related policies and procedures.
  • Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the SSC’s goal of achieving a fully paperless environment by redesigning relevant processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Handle complex financial activities such as, Budgeting and forecasting, Financial reporting and In-depth financial analysis

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possess a degree or diploma in Accounting; holding a professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or ICAEW is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with:
  • 2 to 3 years in public accounting, preferably with one of the Big 4 firms.
  • An additional 1 to 2 years in corporate accounting within a multinational company environment, ideally within a hybrid reporting structure.
  • Prior involvement in major finance transformation projects and experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Blackline is advantageous.
